Event medical standby for Singapore.

Pre-booked standby ambulance, paramedics and trained medics for sports events, marathons, concerts, corporate D&Ds, film shoots and construction sites. Cover scaled to your event, in place before doors open.

The day a guest collapses at your event, you do not have time to start sourcing an ambulance. The whole point of medical standby is that the right people are already on site, briefed, equipped and ready, before anything happens. For most events that need this kind of cover, the pre-booking is the difference between a near miss and a serious incident.

What we can put on site

  • Standby ambulance. A fully equipped vehicle with crew, positioned at your venue for fastest response and clean egress. Operated under SCDF private ambulance licensing through our partner operator.
  • On-site paramedic. A trained paramedic on the ground, in addition to the vehicle crew, for events that warrant additional clinical capacity. See paramedic services.
  • Trained first-aid medics. Additional certified responders for larger events, distributed across the venue or course.
  • Lifeguards if the event involves a pool, beach or open water. See lifeguard services.

Event types we cover

Marathons & running races

Course-side cover with medical positioning along the route, finish-line response, and coordination with the race organiser. The category where event medical cover started, and the category where lapses cost lives.

Sports days & tournaments

Schools, sports associations, corporate sports days. Medical cover for the venue, the participants, and any spectators who happen to need it.

Concerts & live events

Crowd-density cover for ticketed events. Standby ambulance positioned for fastest egress. Paramedic teams in front-of-house and back-of-house positions.

Corporate D&Ds & conferences

Discreet cover that does not interrupt the event. Sized to your headcount and venue. Most clients keep us in a back-of-house room until needed.

Film & TV productions

On-set medical standby for shoots involving stunts, vehicles, water work, height work, or extended shoot days. Industry-standard for any production where the call sheet has risk on it.

Construction & site cover

Pre-positioned cover for high-risk construction work, lifting operations, hot work, confined space entry, and major project handovers.

How standby cover actually works

Three phases, each one as important as the next.

Pre-event

We work with you to scope the right level of cover. Headcount, venue layout, run sheet, risk points, weather considerations, alcohol policy, ages, physical exertion involved. We come back with a plan that places the ambulance, the paramedic and any additional medics where they are most likely to be needed. We confirm the team in writing.

On the day

The crew arrives before doors open. They do a venue walkthrough. They identify primary and backup egress routes. They brief with your event team. The ambulance is positioned. The cover is in place. From the moment the first guest arrives until the last one leaves, the medical team is on standby.

Post-event

Clean handover. If the cover was uneventful, that is the result we wanted. If we treated anyone or transported anyone, you get the report. We do not leave loose ends.

Why pre-booked standby beats relying on 995

SCDF emergency ambulances are positioned to respond to the next emergency call from anywhere in Singapore. They are not pre-positioned at your venue. The median response time for life-threatening cases in built-up Singapore is around eight minutes from dispatch to arrival, which is fast by any international standard. For an event in a downtown CBD venue this is usually fine. For an event on Sentosa, in a deep basement, on a closed marathon route, or in a venue with limited road access, those eight minutes can stretch significantly.

For pre-planned situations, the right answer is to put medical capability on site before the event begins. Trained, briefed, ready. That is what standby is for.

FAQs

Event standby questions

It depends on event type, headcount, venue and risk profile. As a rough guide: any outdoor sports event with physical exertion, any event with more than a few hundred attendees, any event in a venue without quick external ambulance access, any event involving alcohol service for several hours, and any production with risk on the call sheet are good candidates for standby cover. The cost of being wrong about not booking is asymmetric, which is why most experienced organisers default to having cover in place.
The crew arrives at the venue before doors open. The ambulance is positioned for fastest egress and easy access to the venue. Paramedics or medics are pre-briefed on the layout, the run sheet and any specific risk points. They stay for the duration of the event. They handle anything that happens. At the end of the booking, they hand over and leave. If the event is uneventful, that is the goal, the value of pre-booked cover is that you do not find out you needed it.
Yes. For events with a route or large footprint, we work with the organiser to position cover at the right points (start, finish, water stations, mid-course turnaround) rather than concentrating everything in one spot. Tell us the route map and expected participant numbers when you submit the quote enquiry.
For major events (marathons, large concerts, multi-day productions) book as early as possible, months ahead is common. For smaller events and corporate cover, weeks ahead is usually fine. For ad-hoc bookings we will tell you honestly what the lead time looks like when you submit the quote.
The ambulance is on site and crewed. The crew assesses, stabilises, and either treats on the spot or transports to hospital depending on the situation. For life-threatening emergencies the crew will follow the same handover protocols as SCDF, including escalating to 995 if appropriate. The standby ambulance is not a replacement for the SCDF emergency network, it is the first link in the chain that connects to it.
We focus on the medical cover itself: ambulance, paramedics, medics, lifeguards if your event involves water. If you need broader event safety planning (crowd management, security, fire safety) we will tell you who to talk to. We do not pretend to be a one-stop event consultancy when we are not.
